The Orisa painting, known as deities, explores the Yoruba south-west culture of Nigeria, where colors hold significant symbolism when representing Orisa (deities). Each Orisa is associated with specific colors that reflect their attributes, powers, and the elements they govern. As an artist originating from Osun State, I delve deep into the origin of my ancestors, experimenting with the relationships between deities and art. Oshun is the deity known for the yellow color and floral beauty in the Yoruba tradition. She is the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, and water. Yellow represents prosperity and warmth, and she is often depicted with flowers, symbolizing her connection to nature and abundance.
